Traditional
Isitshuba:
Full length wrap – around piece of fabric. Not cut to the
fullness of the womens skirt. Made in the same traditional Nu
Soza Fabric and ornately braided and beaded. The Isitshuba is
secured by tucking it in at the top, using large visible safety
pins, or having a band on it similar to the women's skirts.
Umbhalu:
The Umbhalu is a large shoulder wrap worn draped around both
shoulders or slung over one shoulder. Mostly the Umbhalu is also
made out of the traditional Nu Soza fabric and ornately braided
and beaded. At times it may be a special patterned blanket –
especially in the cold winter months.
